Super awesome comic book store. It was very clean and organized. My daughter was very excited to visit and see everything that they had. They had various comics that she wasn't able to find back home. It had a decent manga selection, books in japanese, small selection of cards and collectiables. It had a lot of usagi yojimbo comics and issues which she was excited about. Will definitely revisit when we are in SLC for her. Staff was nice and welcoming.

Really cool place. I recently got into comic books, and the workers here are so welcoming. They showed me and explained how comics work, explaining volumes, issues, different universe, etc. They are very acknowledable by the store and know where everything is at in less than a second.

A comic shop that survived the pandemic There's not many around the salt lake area anymore. Going back to a proper review, though: The shop prioritizes itself on being a comic shop more than anything else. You can find a lot of older issues if you're trying to catch up. They'll always have a set of the newest issue of any comics currently going. This is certainly a lot better than trying to buy some online, where you're paying almost double or triple the release date prices on top of the shipping and handling. Along with discounts set It's worth dropping by to grab a few Comics especially if it's been a while.

Best back issues in the state hands down. In fact, best back issues I have seen anywhere, period. Plus prices can’t be beat by anyone. Greg and the staff are always helpful and I can’t recommend this store any more for all your comic needs.

I'm gonna be skipping black cat comics from here on out. as the guy who runs the shop kinda weirded me out a bit.

Me and my girlfriend were browsing their graphic novels. She found a novel that she was flipping through at a table, and I picked up a novel, saw a nude girl on the back and started rapidly flipping through to "investigate" what type of book it was. Think less of me if you wish, but I was just dumbfounded that it was left on a shelf where a kid could grab it and was laughing about the issue with my gf.

Well, the owner came over near us to move about some merchandise and upon seeing me holding said book, said "Sir, you can't read the books unless you buy them."

Now, I figured that it was probably because I was literally holding porn in my hands and simply said sorry and put it back to the shelf. But what made it awkward is my gf didn't hear the "sir" and so she thought he was saying it to the both of us. and she jumped back apologetically and immediately put the book she had very much been reading for the last five minutes back on the shelf. And then, we kinda spent 2 more minutes starring at the shelf before we just decided to just leave.

Me and my gf discussed it in the car, and we both kinda agreed that it's kinda hard to justify buying a book without reading a few pages, maybe even a chapter. So by him saying that it kinda just made neither of us really want to touch the shelf past that point. Again, I'm fairly certain he said that because I was holding smut in my hands. But because he simply said not to read the books in general, it kinda just led to this awkward situation where in order to shop at all we would have to directly defy him. Idk man. Been to a lot of book stores of various types and never experienced this situation. I mean, I have watched people walk into Barnes and Noble and read books for hours just to end up not buying them and they don't hound you over misusing the merchandise. Honestly I swear some people think Barnes and Noble is just a library.

To be clear, we were browsing the graphic novels not the comic books. I understand the rule being in place for comics to protect their value. They are tiny and can be finished in 5 minutes of reading. But the graphic novels should probably just have the shopping experience of any other book store right?

With that said, their stock is vast and varied. but now I will always feel like I am being watched by big brother if I go in there so I'm gonna steer away.

Have a great section and the guy that is in when I usually go knows a lot and is always helpful to help me find issues and new things since I’m not quite as knowledgeable. I have found so many new comics to try
