Hours on Google are wrong. I was very excited to visit this book store on a short business trip but when I got there the sign said closed, even though Google said they were open for another hour. Very disappointing

Was excited to come to the store, read great reviews. I went on A Thursday at 1:45pm and they were closed.

Great little gem in Alexandria Old Town. If you’re a book person and you’re looking for something special, you should definitely visit Bernard’s store. Carefully curated selection of books and Bernard will be happy to give you recommendations if you’d like to. 🙂 We’ll be back!

If the owner doesn't have it, you don't need it. No, really, Bernard is passionate about the books. This compact store also features a surprising collect of Black art and some featuring the Divine Nine. Also in the store are unique cards and tee shirts. I wish there was space for a coffee bar.

Drove out to Alexandria to support a black owned book store on a Tuesday afternoon, only to find them closed. Not sure if they need to update their listed hours or if they’re online only - no one picked up during the times I called to inquire. Will look for another black owned bookstore in the DMV area!

Wonderful bookstore with well-curated selection. The store owner is also very kind, welcoming, and helpful. A true gem of Old Town!
