The bookstore is a great place with lots of merchandise and souvenirs. They also have a bunch of passport stamps here. One of the park rangers here have me a one hour guided tour of the memorial. I was here on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30 PM, and since there was nobody else waiting for the guided tour, I got a one hour tour of the memorial. The park ranger was very kind and knowledgeable and I had the chance to learn so much about the FDR memorial!

The FDR Memorial is not to be missed when visiting D.C.! It's large and meanders by the waterfront.

The FDR memorial is dedicated to the only President elected for four terms. The artwork and decor celebrate the challenges and triumphs thy he accomplished during his White House years. A good cost and recommended.

We stumbled across this memorial when we visited the Jefferson Memorial and walked around the tidal basin to see the cherry trees that were in full bloom. The Roosevelt Memorial extends along the western shore. It covers his whole term in office with areas for each of his four terms.

An amazing memorial to a very turbulent time in the world’s history. Huge granite stones carved with some of the most inspiring quotes from the late President and his wife.

A perfect place for a morning walk or run. A continuous tree canopy and several water features allow for cooler temperatures regardless of the heat of the day.

Many of the quotes are also written in braille for the visually impaired.

This bookstore and interpretation center sits in the midst of one of the most incredible monuments on the mall. FDR was president for four terms and saw the US through some of it most difficult trials. This bookstore features some explanations of the memorial, can be the start of an NPS tour, and provides some souvenirs and drinks for visitors. Always check the NPS site for this and other monuments, as the NPS often has tours of the monuments where they point out facts and other things “hidden” in plain view.
