Great book store. Little bit of everything & lots of older books. Literally feel like you are stepping back in time when you go there. Great selection, they are always getting new items, & its a treasure hunt. You never know what you're gonna find.

first things first, this bookstore is amazing. not dusty, not stale smelling, and is nicely lit. the lady at the front was kind and helpful. she escorted my 11-year-old to the kids/young adults section which was Harry Potter and just a few other selections. not much happening in the kids section, but there are many other sections that kids can enjoy like picture books/coffee table books.
so, the books here are not bargain priced, at ALL. these are used books, but they are in excellent-to-unread condition, with prices that reflect their original msrp. all of the 6 books that we purchased (total cost $85 even with a "student discount" ) could have been purchased on eBay (specifically ThriftBooks) for a fraction of that cost. literally pennies on the dollar. a couple of the books weren't priced yet and the prices she wrote in on the spot seemed strategically high...like, tourist trap high.
but, as tourists, the experience of browsing through these endless aisles of meticulously arranged old books for an hour was worth the cost? ehhh, not really, lol
I'd suggest stepping in to browse, perhaps buy 1 book or maybe two just for the heck of it but don't do what we did and load up on these over-priced previously owned books especially if the books you choose don't already have prices written in the front cover.

As a book collector and lover of vintage paperbacks, this store is one of the best bookstores I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to stores all over the country.

They have an enormous selection of vintage paperbacks in great condition - many in protected sleeves. They have a large selection of hardcover fiction and even a locked room in the back with the more valuable stock.

The woman working there was incredibly kind and helpful…not just to me but to others who came in looking for specific items while I was shopping.

I live out of state and only visit to see family but making a stop at Parker’s books will be a must for me every time I’m back from now on and it should be a must visit for any book lover!

Lots and lots of books in a million different categories, but not a lot in what I mostly read: modern fiction. I also thought they were a bit pricey. Most of what I saw was $15-$20 and I could have gotten the same book online for less then $10. I prefer to support local, but I'm on a strict budget right now and couldn't quite justify those prices.

A very nice used bookstore with a decent amount of organization to help sift through all of the books. The maps, prints, and more limited edition books are all interesting.

Unfortunately the hours are limited and the book selection feels a bit stale or patchy. Prices are also moderately high.

On the continuum of ‘warehouse with unsorted boxes of cheap books’ and ‘highly organized and curated’— this store falls more towards the organized and curated experience.

Great bookstore - very diverse selection, maps, and many categories. They have dutifully taken the time to categorize things, so as long as you know what you are looking for, you can get right to that section; OR you are welcome to browse of course, and you may find something that grabs your attention more that way. A quaint bookshop, many topics and books to choose from. Price point is of course diverse as you will find that turn of the century book you were looking for next to a recent printing (hence the recommendation to browse). If you don't find what you are looking for, ask the staff as they are helpful and informative.
