We absolutely loved the store. Choices are plenty, the staff is friendly and very cool. They've good a great variety of different anarchist/activist books. Most in English and Dutch, some in Spanish and German. You can also buy records and shirts there.

Great selection of leftist works from history and modern day. You'll find literature ranging from marxism to post-colonialism to guerilla warfare. Cheap tiny books, like pamphlets and such, and avrage priced larger books/essays. I bought "the poverty of student life" from the students of Sorbonne in 67', a pamphlet on Yasser Arafat by Deluze, and Comunitas by Paul and Percival Goodman.

Fantastic, broad and thoughtfully curated selection of literature, lovely helpful staff ❤️ Books are available both in English and Dutch, they are thematically ordered. The highlight for me was an entire section on AI. Will be coming back for more, many times for sure!

Super toffe boekenwinkel met zat keuze in boeken over anarchisme, feminisme, communisme en andere radicale en/of relevante onderwerpen. Er zijn ook zat tweedehands boeken, lp's, zines en t-shirts. Zeker een aanrader om te checken als je in de buurt bent!

One of the best bookstores in the world. Every time you visit you'll find something interesting, just by glancing around. Every time I visit here. The selection is amazing and represents their idea of providing information about radical and anti-mainstream ideas extremely well, as it's not just the usual anarchist, libertarian books, but a really wide scope of anything and everything out of the ordinary thought. And of course you just have to love both the vibe/atmosphere of the place, and the whole idea of how this place to be and what it represents - the true power of community against an increasingly oppressive world around. Love the story of how the store came to be, and how its kept going. Its a true story of whats unique in the spirit of Amsterdam.

Interesting bookshop , nothing to do with the origional fort of Sjakoo.
The buildings where a band of thieves lived called Fort van Sjakoo is in the Jordaan area .
