It's a monthly affair where we, as a whole family would gather to have dinner together. About 18 of us most of the time. We as a family would venture to different coffee shops to try out different seafood or halal sze char - ish stalls. Preference to coffee shops is mainly because it somehow just feels more comfortable.

So this time round, bro recommend we try out L&M and of cause we were all game. We arrived at around 620pm with reservations. We were greeted by the staff who was slightly "friendly", in fact, a bit too forced for my comfort. Somehow I felt it was laced with sarcasm at times when she was answering our queries. I guess she was trying, so "A" for the effort I suppose. It pays to be genuine ya.

We ordered our stuff and agreed to some of the recommendations. I'm simply going to rate them, the mains, 1 being the best and so forth after having tried them all.

1) Salted Egg Squid - Delish ... Period!
2) Kangkong - Good portions and tasty
3) Hot Plate Beef - Nice, could be a bit more flavorful
4) Hotplate Chicken - Nothing to rave about
5) Fish - Eeerrmmm .... Abysmal at best
6) Mutton Satay - Not charred, lacked taste and missed the mark.

The kid's table was served similar items but I'm not going there. Here's my take, consistency is very important. The standard establishment sets themselves should be manageable at all times. On our part, the last time my bro and family ate there, they were raving about it but this time round, even they had to admit that the food was "off".

Having claimed to be around for 14 years, they should have had the food peg down right, always. Let's get this right, the food was OK however I somehow expected more with the overzealous customer service, no? I do need to point out that the male server was wonderful. Pleasant, alert and he even tripled check our orders just to ensure that we got what we ordered which by the way they missed something for the kid's table.

All in all, would I give this place another try, sure. However, my expectations are lowered for sure. For the price paid, it was bad but I believe we can all agree that paying more for exceptional and delicious food is not an issue.

Oh well, that's how I felt and my "review". Again, after 14 years, this place should have been a great place.

The food was delicious. We had spicy & sour steam seabass, sambal stingray. Boththe fishes were fresh and enjoyful. Salted egg prawn also nice and so is the four star sambal vegetable. In all my $84 worth the money for the food that i had ordered.

$7+ Tomyam Vermicelli Goreng is just a pile of dried carbs with 2-3 sad pieces of prawns and squids. Almost tasteless with hints of tomato sauce rather than Tomyam.

We had requested for the other fried rice dish to be spicy, but it came completely bland and no spice at all. Requested for extra soy/sambal chilli, which were probably the only thing that could save the dishes, but didn’t arrive too.

What an experience.

Very disappointed of this Restaurant. Just saw thier Review only 2.6 Star. My husband just bought Chicken Tom Yam Soup, cost $6.50. But the Tom Yam Soup just a Half Container..a little bit of chicken. A little bit of Veg, no tomatoes. Cost $6.50, NO QUALITY & NO QUANTITY.
My advice, DON'T GO THIS RESTAURANT.

Ordered the horfun $4.50, taste is actually quite good, the horfun is nicely charred, the gravy is also nicely done.

But unfortunately I have to give them 3 star because the sotong has this strong fishy smell and after taste, it's very unpleasant, I think maybe it wasn't clean thoroughly.

The sambal chilli also has this strange sour taste, I think they left it out for too long. Just go with the green chilli, it goes well with the horfun.

I would have gave them a 5 if it wasn't for the sotong. Anyway, I would still recommend you guys to try if you're around the area and couldn't decide what to eat, just ask for no sotong lol!

Nice food just opposite to where I stay. The prawn paste chicken, Singapore fried bee Hoon and fried rice is all time favourite, would highly recommend.

Ordered beef hor fun, but was given Hong Kong Mee. Anyhow give table number. We were willing to accept, but the nasty makcik tudung need not raise her voice. Have some courtesy pls. Zero for the awful service.

Waited for 1hr 20.mins for 5 dishes . Order taken at 1730pm, Orders received at 1850pm. Customers which come after me received their food first and they are ordering more than my orders. All the customers including myself is walk in order so I understand if my order will be ready slightly later than the online orders but this is ridiculous, ive to to asked the staff 3 times Upson seeing the customers after getting their orders. Everytime I asked them they will say " oh 2 more dishes bang" like 1 hr plus for 2 dishes to be ready? Organizations of packing is really bad, staff seems lost everytime the cooks put the ready food on the packing station. This happens to me twice during my visit. I really hope the management will.do something about this, i understand if peak hours starts things will get a but busy but please do something about the organizations of the food packing , and train the staff in handling the rush hours.
