I'd really love for this place to thrive! We don't have any stores like it in Vancouver anymore. However, the guy working here is often quite short; borderline rude.

The place smells bad, and is messy. Honestly, with how quiet the store is, it could be spotless, and well organized.

Selection of retro stuff used to be OK, but recently I went in and there were maybe 5 NES games, and similar amount of SNES. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.

Looking at other reviews, I was hesitant but still look a risk. I got a PS4 console as advertised on Facebook Marketplace.

I wanted the PS4 for my brother, who has a condition and he gets hyperactive and violent when he smells certain things (this is the important part of how Sean reacted when I told him this).

While selling me the console, Sean was all happy and kind and told me I could bring back the console within 90 days if it had any problems. He didn't let me test it there itself but I trusted him

As soon as I got home, I realized that he gave me the wrong power cable. Another thing was that the controller and console were reeking of cigarettes. (One of the smells that makes my brother hyperactive), so I of course had to return it, as I couldn't give that to my brother.

The next day I went at 12:30 (he was supposed to be open) but the shop was closed. Of the few people waiting for the shop to be open, one of them said "The reviews might be bad but he honors what he says". Another reason to trust Sean.

So then go the next day, and Sean instantly turned from a sweet kind person to the rudest person I've ever met. I was talking calmly but he was replying very rudely. He was on a call for which I told him we can talk after he finishes his call, which he refused to do so. When I pitched my case, he literally said "HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT MY BROTHER OR HIS CONDITION". He kept saying if it doesn't work he'll replace it, but won't take it back. Now I can't be the one to keep checking if each and every console of his works or not, as he refused to refund.

He changes the console (which by the way smells worse and I'm currently trying to switch it on, its not working), and then continues with his call saying, "You see the shit i have to deal with"

Like Mr. Sean, you may be fortunate enough that you don't have to deal with kids which have disabilities, but there are people who can't stand certain things, and hope for a little consideration that you accommodate them.

Update: The PS4 controller doesn't work and he is refusing to change the controller even though he has a different ad on Facebook Marketplace selling multiple PS4 controllers

PS. If you or one of your family members are specially challenged, its best you avoid this shop

I am not from Vancouver but was here for a last trip before the winter comes. I love buying old video games and was not aware of any of these kinds of stores in Vancouver at all, but I was surprised when I looked up on Google to see this one, I'm glad I came here! Anything you could possibly want from Sega Saturn, PC Games, N64 all the way to PS4/Xbox One... anything you want for your gaming needs this store has it! I was in search for some PS2 and PSP games this time around and I was able to get just that! There was a really good sale going that everything on the shelves was $5 then anything in the cases was half price! I was on the hunt for an Armored Core game and he had just that but it was one of the ones in the case and the game itself looked brand new in mint condition as was everything else in the cases! I am happy to report that all my purchases work 100%! I was very impressed with this store and asked if I was allowed to take some photod so I did just that 😀

Next time I am in Vancouver I will absolutley be back! Really great store!

Although the place smelt like cigarettes, the guy that was working today was too generous. I was gonna buy a PS1 Classic controller but he told me debit was down at the time. So he just gave it to me for free. I did not know what to say. He said something along the lines of “It’s $20. Who cares.” I feel so bad that I just took it for free so I’m planning on coming back in 2 weeks to bring the $20 I owe back. Thank You again!

It was my first time there earlier on today I saw a lot of different games. I just didn't like how it's smells but the guy at the counter was helpful i was able to buy some games. I didn't get to see the other games I wanted.

Game selection is good, but owner doesn't have an ounce of friendliness in him and she shop is just generally very unwelcome. For a game store it almost feels like you're a nuisance being there. Brought some games in and was given an insulting price for them. Will not be going back.

This place seems to have a very loose definition of store hours. Showed up at 5:30, lights were on, but the door was locked and there was no one inside. Came back less than an hour later and the lights were off and the door was locked. Still had the open sign, though. Sent a very clear message that I can take my business elsewhere. And they really need to fix their door, it's smashed in several places. Too bad, as it's a great location, but there's much better alternatives for used/ retro gaming

I tried to contact the store before coming in to see if they have a specific game, and their phone number is disconnected. I tried contacting them on Facebook and Instagram with no response. So I headed in in person, to find an extremely rude employee. When I told him I had tried to call and that their number was disconnected he just said "yeah could be. What do you want?" in just about the rudest, most flippant tone possible.

They didn't have the game I was looking for, which is fine, but a business needs a method of contact so people can know ahead if it's worth commuting to.

I was surprised -- I went in a few years ago and had such a great experience!
