I love local indie bookstores ! I’ve been trying to hit all the DMV ones (East City Books, Kramers, Old Town Books, and Politics and Prose done! - People’s Book next - let me know if there are others that need to be on my radar!)

However, let’s talk about Solid State Books. Lovely shop for new books. I barely got past the staff recommendations which were set up first bookshelf on the right as I entered. The recommendations were amazing (I may be biased because I already own/have read quite a few) as well as diverse. Which we love to see, since reading is for everyone !

The staff were very nice and helpful. I found a couple books easily, but was impressed by their selection. It’s spacious and no stairs needed to access the entire store. Next time you are in the area for Trader Joe’s or food/drink reservations, you should take a minute to visit this bookstore !!

Lovely store and super friendly staff! We popped into this bookstore as part of a puzzle hunt and it was a delightfully cozy store with a good variety of options. The employees were super kind despite a bunch of people from the puzzle hunt lingering in the front half of the store. We plan on returning here sometime soon to actually be able to shop when we’re not on a time crunch.

This was my first time visiting, and it did not disappoint. When I travel to different cities, I try to make it a point to visit the local bookstores. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was chill and a vibe. They had most of the books I was looking for. I will definitely be visiting again the next time I'm in DC.

Good variety of books, pretty big store, friendly staff. I didn’t see much in the way of seating and there was no public restroom which was disappointing. Would definitely go back though.

Wonderful staff that work here, they were so helpful and lovely! It’s a cute little bookstore to check out books on variety of subjects, even current events. When the books I was looking for were not available, they recommend a nearby bookshop where I can more more books on the subject (bookstores supporting bookstores, 💯).
