I visited Taken Back Retro last summer and had a very positive experience here. I was in the area in the middle of a road trip I do annually and when looking into game stores I would be driving near, I saw them as a recommendation.

I decided to give them a shot and I am glad that I did. I believe one of the owners(Destiny) was who I was dealing with that day. She was incredibly kind and helpful.

The store was nice and tidy. It had an amazing selection of retro video games and I found a couple of solid games I had been on the hunt for, but was struggling to find. Funnily enough at the time, I could not for the life of me find a copy of Donkey Kong Country 3 with a clean label, but their store had it and then some.

Left with a nice little stack of games and I was a very happy customer. I will definitely be going out of my way to stop by and visit this shop whenever I pass through Napanee on road trips.

Thanks for opening and running the awesome game store you guys have. It was a real treat!

Very friendly staff and helpful I will be a return customer for sure, I was driving all the way to Kingston and the TCG shops there brush you off unless you dangle a couple hundred dollars in there faces these guys were eager to help even though I was on a budget at the time, even invited me to a commander game. Above and beyond service keep up the good work guys

Stopped in today for the first time and was seriously impressed by the store and owner. They have a great game selection with reasonable prices for retro games making it worth the trip from kingston. The owner (I presume) was super nice and informative, I ended up grabbing Pokémon gold today and am super happy with it. I definitely will do all my retro game shopping here from now on!

Great little place, I was looking for NES, SNES and Atari and they had a great selection, also had some Tengen games. Very helpful and friendly staff !

Very family-friendly atmosphere at this shop. Owners are really down to
Earth easy to talk to people . The Crazy demand for Trading card games such as Magic the gathering , Pokémon , and Yugioh and others is some of the popular items they have here , along with New booster packs and pre owned singles and elite trainer boxes as well . With Dragon Shield Sleeves to protect those cards as well .They have different variety of old classic game systems with a wide selection of games for all types of these games systems …Cannot
Forget old school 1980’s 1990’s figurines such as Marvel , G.I Joe, Spider-Man to name a cpl …Overall it’s a awesome environment to go and hang out to join others in card play or just to see what’s new in and have a good conversation with others around you having the same interests and hobby’s ..

Great people great environment highly recommended for all gamers and collectors of the gaming world 🙂

Lots of great products on display. Wide variety of consoles, cards, and games. I spend a lot of time scouring Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji, and Taken Back Retro seriously has some of the best prices I've ever seen.

I just went in here today for the first time, it's a lovely little store. Reasonable prices for vintage items, and anything in general. The owner was very nice. Shop was clean, and there's retro games in the shop that you can play for free. Lots of selection. I'm looking forward to my next visit! 🙂 🕹👾
