Yesterday was a day I needed to take (today too off)… I work in a stressful environment and have to deal with all sorts of people… so comic book collecting has become my relaxing get my mind off of daily life challenges haha

This store is AMAZING! 45 minutes before closing wasn’t enough… since I had a good rest today in a Best Western Plus and took the decision to take the day off… I might just have to come back!

My paintball business and restaurant is about 2-3h drive from there in Quebec… so thanks to the kindness of the staff and owner Steeve (or Steeven, not 100% sure)…

I will be back!

I don’t know where to start with this review but I want to give credit where credit is due. The manager and a staff person and a client all deserve the highest recognition. I lost my wallet as I was getting into my car at the Bleeker Mall. I checked on my phone when my purse turned upside down, but didn’t think to check my wallet. It had fallen out and was found in the parking lot by a customer of The Comic Book Shoppe, who handed it in to a trusted staff member he knows. A note inside giving contact information for my daughter led them to contact her and she picked it up. I received it the next day totally in tact - cash, credit cards, drivers licence, OHIP card etc and gift certificates to a couple of stores. The angst and stress that I was saved is unbelievable. The store manager, his staff person and the client all deserve recognition for what they did. Obviously a great place to shop and do business but I, personally, have never had the need to go there. If this is the type of store you need, you won’t find better service , as noted in other reviews (or more honourable staff). Hats off and thank you to everyone involved in the safe return of my wallet.

One of the best, if not the best, comic book stores in Ottawa!
I always find everything I’m looking for. The staff are super friendly and understanding, they always try to help with everything.
Even if you’re not nearby, I highly recommend paying them a visit. You won’t be disappointed!

Okay. I am sure all the geeks/needs (re. Best people!) Know about this place. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for, they also helped find things I didn't know existed! Great store. I recommend.

Let me start by saying I want to give this review a 0/5 that is how horrible and terrible this place is.I used to spend hundreds of dollars at this store with my best friend until I was wrongfully accused of stealing with no proof by the store manager who btw threatened to call the police on me and banned me from the store with no proof.no security cameras so anybody could steal and the staff at the Merivale store are the rudest and horrendous I have seen run a store.If you want to go to an actual good comic book store myth and legends on bank street is the best comic book place I have been to the staff is very helpful and nice and the selection of comics they have are amazing and they know what they are talking about they know a ton about comics people at Merivale are a joke.The Merivale comic book shoppe should be shut down for good!😡

There is a great selection of toys, games, comics, etc! They have great prices for the comic books but not so much for the toys and games. The staff are nice and very knowledgeable! It was my first time here but certainly not my last!

I took my daughter to this place to find some specific things. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s a huge array of products from figurines to books to comics - very cool!
